The healing time for a Flat piercing is approximately 2–4 months.

For a smooth healing process, please follow these guidelines:

• Do not go swimming, use a sauna, or visit a tanning salon for the first two weeks after getting pierced.
• Until fully healed, do not remove, change, or rotate the jewellery, and do not treat the piercing with alcohol-based products.
• Always wash your hands thoroughly before caring for a fresh piercing.
• Use an alcohol-free disinfectant and an anti-inflammatory aftercare product twice daily.
• Every 2–3 days, apply a sterile 0.9% saline compress for approximately 10 minutes. This supports healing and helps remove dried blood and discharge. If necessary, use a sterile cotton swab or sterile gauze.
• Do not sleep on the jewellery until the piercing has fully healed. Make sure that nothing puts pressure on or irritates it, such as a hat or headphones. Keep any objects that regularly come into contact with the piercing clean as well.
• If a healed piercing later becomes inflamed, consult a professional to discuss the appropriate treatment and whether a jewellery change may be necessary. Do not postpone this for several days—prompt care makes the issue easier to treat.
