The healing time for a Monroe piercing is approximately 1–2 months.

For trouble-free healing, follow the advice below:

• With a fresh piercing, do not go to swimming pools, saunas or tanning salons for 2 weeks.
• Do not consume alcohol for one week!
• For 2 weeks, the consumption of any milk and dairy products is PROHIBITED.
• Until fully healed, the jewelry must not be removed, changed, rotated or treated with alcohol-based products!
• Until fully healed, make sure that no makeup or other cosmetic product gets on the piercing or the wound around it.
• At the time of piercing, we insert starter jewelry with a longer post so there is enough room for possible swelling of the lip. After complete healing, we can replace the jewelry with one that has a shorter post.
• Always wash your hands thoroughly before caring for a freshly pierced piercing.
• External treatment: apply a compress with sterile 0.9% saline solution every 2–3 days, for approximately 10 minutes at a time, as this helps healing and removes dried blood and discharge. (If necessary, the use of a sterile cotton swab or sterile gauze pad is recommended.)
• Use an alcohol-free disinfectant and anti-inflammatory product twice a day.
• Internal treatment: for 3 weeks after the piercing, rinse with Phlogosol after every meal and smoking, but at least 4–5 times a day.
• Until fully healed, do not sleep on the jewelry and make sure that nothing irritates it. Also keep clean any objects that may regularly come into contact with the piercing.
• If the healed piercing becomes inflamed later on, consult a professional (possibly due to a necessary piercing change) and discuss further treatment with them.
  This must not be postponed for days, as the problem can be treated more quickly with prompt intervention.
