Septum piercing
DESCRIPTION
This piercing is located in the nasal septum, hence the name septum piercing. The exact location will be discussed before the piercing and will be placed according to personal preference.
CARE
The healing time for a Septum piercing is approximately 2–3 months.
For trouble-free healing, follow the advice below:
- With a fresh piercing, do not go to swimming pools, saunas or tanning salons for 2 weeks.
- Until fully healed, the jewelry must not be removed, changed, rotated or treated with alcohol-based products!
- Always wash your hands thoroughly before caring for a freshly pierced piercing.
- Use an alcohol-free disinfectant and anti-inflammatory product twice a day.
- Apply a compress with sterile 0.9% saline solution every 2–3 days, for approximately 10 minutes at a time, as this helps healing and removes dried blood and discharge. (If necessary, the use of a sterile cotton swab or sterile gauze pad is recommended.)
- Using a sea salt nasal spray twice a day helps healing.
- Until fully healed, do not sleep on the jewelry and make sure that nothing squeezes or irritates it. Also keep clean any objects that may regularly come into contact with the piercing.
- If the healed piercing becomes inflamed later on, consult a professional (possibly due to a necessary piercing change) and discuss further treatment with them.
This must not be postponed for days, as the problem can be treated more quickly with prompt intervention. - In case of any questions or abnormalities related to healing, ask for our help immediately.
BELOW THE AGES OF 18
- Below the age of 14, we only do earrings, with ear-piercing guns. Between the ages of 14-16, we do piercing with parental supervision, exceptions are extreme piercings, microdermals, genital piercings, and nipple piercings.
