Tongue piercing
DESCRIPTION
A tongue piercing is distinctive yet relatively discreet, as it is most visible when speaking or opening the mouth. We use a straight barbell of sufficient length to accommodate the initial swelling as starter jewellery.
Because the shape and thickness of the tongue, as well as the position of the blood vessels beneath it and the lingual frenulum, vary from person to person, our piercers carefully assess your anatomy before the procedure. Based on this assessment, they determine a safely suitable placement and select the appropriate premium titanium starter jewellery.
CARE
The complete healing time for a Tongue piercing is at least 4-6 weeks.
For a smooth healing process, please follow these guidelines:
- Do not consume alcohol for one week.
- Do not consume milk or any dairy products for two weeks.
- Swelling is expected after the piercing procedure. With titanium jewellery, it usually lasts 3–4 days; with medical-grade steel jewellery, it may last up to one week.
- During the first two days, it is very important to suck on ice cubes twice daily (4–5 cubes each time).
- Until fully healed, rinse with Phlogosol after every meal and after smoking—at least 4–5 times a day.
- Once fully healed, it is advisable to have the starter jewellery changed to a shorter bar.
- If a healed piercing is pulled or caught on something and becomes inflamed as a result, restart the aftercare routine described above.
- If you have any questions or notice anything unusual during healing, contact us immediately by phone or in person.
